So you want to squat...

A London service is publicizing the city's vast number of vacant buildings in the hope that people could squat them. The group features flyers and brochures that mimic real estate publications. Read about it in The Daily Mail.

I am a documenttary filmmaker working on a two hour PBS doc with Hernando de Soto. I am looking for some stats on shantytowns and am wondering if you can help me. I can be reached at 847-869-1946 or trillfilm@aol.com

Thanks! Nice site...

Unfortunately, the occupied social centre in this photo, Bowl Court, near Liverpool Street in London, was evicted almost 2 weeks ago, by 30 around 30 bailiffs. As a regular visitor to the space, it will be a real shame to see it go. It generally had a very friendly and open atmosphere. There were some good parties there, as well as film showings, exhibitions, meetings and a radio studio. But there is already talk of finding another space somewhere in South London....
